Addis Ababa, December 26, 2023 – In continuation of its commitment to community development and corporate social responsibility, the Buzuayehu Tadele Foundation (BTF) has completed the construction of a brand new residential complex in Addis Ababa’s Addis Ketema sub-city. BTF has officially handed over the G+1 structure, featuring twelve modern living quarters, to the Addis Ketema Sub City Administration in a ceremony attended by BTF and local officials, as well as community members.
Furthermore, BTF has signed an agreement with the sub-city administration to build three additional floors on the housing complex. Inking the agreement were Egziael Buzuayehu, BTF’s board member and CEO of Dire Dawa National Cement S.C., and Aida Awol, CEO of the Addis Ketema sub-city administration.
Upon full completion with the three additional floors, the housing complex will have a total of thirty living complexes. The project has a total budget of 35 million birr.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Aida Awol, CEO of the Addis Ketema sub-city administration, expressed her gratitude for BTF’s efforts, and highlighted it will help alleviate the shortage of living space in the sub-city.
Jantirar Abay, Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa City, for his part, said BTF’s multifaceted charitable works in the city are highly commendable.
Meseret Tadesse, BTF’s Executive Directress, while highlighting BTF’s works so far, has expressed the Foundation’s commitment to continue support of various charitable schemes in the city.
Among the recent works of BTF, living complexes for sixty families constructed at a cost of 100 million birr and additional support in the form of household items in Lideta sub-city, a daily meal support for 500 people in Gulele sub-city, meal sharing programs during major holidays for 100 households in Lideta sub-city, green development works as part of Villa Africa Greenery, as well as various supports for several government offices can be mentioned.
